Ella's nursery

This was a labour of love for me and is my favourite room in our house! It's not a huge room but it's got two huge windows, so it's filled with light and it's so cosy. She's still sleeping in our room in a bassinet at the moment but when I'm ready to move her it's all set up. Hubby and I spent a long time putting the furniture together, decorating and organising.

The walls are painted in Dulux half strength "Duck Egg Blue" and the carpet is a medium grey with all the skirting painted in Dulux "Alabaster. I wanted to paint the room in a colour that could work for either girls or boys incase our second child is a boy. To make it girly all the decor and accessories are pretty pinks and florals. The theme is sort of shabby chic with butterflies.

The cot, changing table and set of drawers are all from cots4tots. The wall decal with Ella's name, dandelions and butterflies is from the Etsy store "Decalisland" it was a bit of a mission to transfer but it looks gorgeous.

The chair, from Bigsave Furniture, is so comfy and perfect for middle of the night feeding. The owl cushion is from NZsale (no longer available) and the footstool is from Ezibuy home.

We added a bed, which so far is quite handy, so that if Ella is having a particular grizzly night either hubby or I can get some sleep. The quilt cover is from Farmers. I added the shelving as a bit of a feature and a place to put soft toys, from Freedom Furniture.

The letters I made myself using plain wooden letters from Spotlight and covered with pictures from the book "Guess how much I love you" by Sam McBratney.

I made the changing table cover using floral flannelette fabric from Spotlight, the nappy stacker is from The Baby Factory and the butterfly picture is from Ezibuy.

 1. "Your first breath took ours away quote" printable from Etsy store Art and Jelly.
2. Pink musical mobile from the Baby Factory.

It's not completely finished, I'd like to add a little table or shelving unit by the chair, a lamp and a toybox to finish it off but I love this room and how it looks so far and I think Ella will end up loving it too!

I love seeing other nurseries, so link down below and I'd love to have a look.

  4. Whether you are renting or buying a house, finding furniture that suits your budget and liking is the most tricky part. The most considered features are the style and functionality of the furniture.
